SUMMARY:

Radium Girls follows two sisters, Bessie and Jo, who work painting glow‑in‑the‑dark watch dials in the 1920s. The job seems harmless at first, but everything changes when Jo becomes seriously ill. Bessie starts questioning why so many girls at the factory are getting sick and why the company keeps insisting the radium paint is safe. As she searches for answers, she uncovers evidence that the company knew the paint was dangerous but hid the truth to protect its profits. The story turns into a fight for justice as Bessie teams up with activists and lawyers to hold the company accountable. The film shows how ordinary young women were forced to stand up against powerful corporations, turning their personal tragedy into a major moment in labor and public health history.
